Marc Jacobs Daisy Eau So Fresh

This fragrance is one of our NEW faves!

It's a whimsical interpretation of Marc Jacobs' original Daisy fragrance, but this scent is more fruity, more bubbly, more fun!

Open the bottle and you'll be transported to a field of sunshine that bursts with the flirty scent of flowers and the cheerful sweetness of fruits. Its light, woody base infuses a subtle but sharp glimmer of musk for an unexpected twist of radiance.

Fun to look at, to touch, and open, the gold top of the weighted glass bottle is covered in six soft-to-the-touch daisies with petals in white, pink, and yellow.

Super-refreshing with Natural Raspberry, Grapefruit, Pear, Violet, Wild Rose, Apple Blossom, Musks, Cedarwood, Plum.Yummy!

Twilight Lip Plumper

Who wants to look like a Vampire?!

Word on the street is that Twilight is launching its own make-up line. No...I'm not talking twilight as in the time of day, I'm talking about the movie. No kidding.

It's already being used on the next installment The Twilight Series: New Moon - which has just finished shooting in Vancouver - and is expected to be on sale by the end of this year.

The line is made by DuWop, the cult brand that brought us Lip Venom. Word is that they'll be making a special "Twilight" version (of their famous Lip Venom) which will be separated so that one half of the lip plumper will look like blood.

Revlon has a stable of products set to launch in the second half of 2009:

Revlon ColorStay Mineral Mousse Makeup and Revlon ColorStay Mineral Finishing Powder are extensions to the Revlon ColorStay Mineral franchise, which was introduced in 2008. ColorStay Mineral Mousse Makeup is a first-to-market formula with ColorStay technology that offers the benefits of mineral makeup in a long-wearing mousse form with a luxurious matte finish. Mineral Finishing Powder features coordinated 3-shade marbleized pigments swirled together to provide a soft, all-over lift of color that diffuses flaws and minimizes shine. The advertising campaign features Halle Berry.

Revlon ColorStay Ultimate Liquid Lipstick is a breakthrough product that is the first and only one-step lipcolor that has it all – exclusive ColorStay long-wear technology combined with an exclusive ultra conditioning complex to provide comfortable food-proof wear for up to 12 hours all in one step. Revlon Fruitful Temptations Nail Enamel is a collection of eight exotic summer fruit shades, each of which has a matching fruit scent when the enamel is dry.

Revlon Makeup Remover Towelettes are oil-free, quilted and pre-moistened. The towelettes contain an antioxidant blend of pomegranate and rosemary with soothing chamomile that leave the skin feeling clean, refreshed and hydrated.

Rock & Republic Cosmetics

Rock & Republic. If the name sounds familiar to you, it should. Rock & Republic has been at the fashion forefront with its edgy line of high class denim featuring the noted oversized "R"s on the back pockets. Last fall, the brand hopped effortlessly from fashion to cosmetics, and the results are fab.

The collection includes 10 categories with pressed powder, bronzer, eye and lip colors, and to-die-for brushes made from goat hair, sable and pony hair. The one thing missing from the line is foundation - replaced by a tinted primer and a tinted illuminizer.
The illuminizer (which sells for $48) allows for a luminous finish, with the help of light-diffusing polymers, and the primer (available for $46) has an SPF of 20, and gives a light matte finish.
The packaging is absolutely amazing. Each product is made from luxurious materials, such as silber, black patent leather, and swarovski crystals.

Who IS This Woman??

Bookmark and Share

I know that the woman in this picture is supposed to be Demi Moore for Helena Rubenstein (a division of L'Oreal), but this woman looks like Demi's 30 year old sister!

I "get" the concept of airbrushing. Especially for organizations like cosmetics companies. I'm fairly certain that we all do. But this one...c'mon. Don't get me wrong, Demi Moore is stunning at 46. But in this ad, she doesn't even LOOK like the same person!

Now...I've never tried Helena Rubenstein products, but I think that the only thing this ad did for me, is show me the infinite possibilities that lie within Photoshop. It did nothing to make me as a consumer want to purchase their products. It may have even had the opposite effect...

What do you think? Tell us! Does the Helena Rubenstein ad with 'airbrushed beyond belief' Demi Moore make you MORE inclined to try their products, or less? Leave us your comments. (Click on "Who is This Woman" title of this piece to open comments box.)

Clinique

All About Eyes

I've told you before that I'm a freak for moisturizer. I moisturize at night before bed, and again in the morning after I wash off the stuff from the night before, but before I apply my makeup for the day. I'm especially careful with the delicate area around the eyes. That skin requires something special. Like Clinique's All About Eyes. The cream inside this little jar reduces the appearance of eye puffs, darkness, fine lines (hate those). Its lightweight, non-creep, cream/gel formula actually helps hold eye makeup in place. I use it morning and night, under eyes and on the lids.

DOVE PRO AGE

I have this 'thing' about moisturizing. My mother is 71 years old, and she looks like she's 40. Do you know what she says her "secret" is? "Moisturize...moisturize...moisturize." That's what she says when people ask her how she looks so young.

I moisturize like crazy. At night I use Dove Pro Age Night Cream, and I've found that it works great. It has a gentle scent, and it lays down nicely under foundation and powder. Keeps my skin from 'flaking' under the makeup.

Try it! I know you won't be disappointed.
